Ever sinced my upgrade from 10.3.9 to 10.4.9 the browser Opera keeps opening itself up at unexpected times, like two minutes ago as I started this post. I have never been to Opera's site nor do I have any interest in it. When I delete all related folders (three of them) it just comes back. I am on broadband so always on, but this should not be happening, it's a nuissance. How do I get rid of whatever is causing this behavior?
Thank you.

Interesting, did you throw away everything into the garbage bin?
Maybe the program is in the startup sequence, open System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items
Delete anything that has to do with Opera. When you have done this its a good idea to Repair Permissions.

Sethro, thank you for your suggestions. Yes, I have emptied the trash each time I have deleted the Operta folders, and there are no Opera startup items in the Login items. I will delete again, restart and repair permissions.

Do you have Dreamweaver installed? It installs Opera components.
