Yes I am (but not giving up the day job!)
Guitar: Yamaha pacifica, '78 Ibanez (LesPaul style).
My repertoire of covers is from the stone age:
-come together: Beatles
-I want to hold your hand: Beatles
-waiting on a friend: Stones
-happy together: Turtles (as played with lord Frank Zappa)
-Sweet dreams: Eurythmics
-Teenage kicks: Undertones
-Under the Bridge: RHC Peppers
-Camarillo Brillo: F. Zappa
-She: E. Costello (or Charles Aznavour)
-Every breath you take: Police
-
and about 25 more I'll post later when I remember them (like I said: old! man)

I used to be in a band, not specifically a cover band at all, but we used to throw one in for giggles every once in a while. The Trooper was regularly covered. I think we did "running with the devil" once but it didn't work out that well.

For real. I don't have enough space to list all mine -- but I have most of it viewable on my main web site:
http://www.maurymccown.com/index.php/music/mygear/
It's missing a couple of guitars, and my pedalboard is way different now I'm using mostly my own, custom-built effects.

I was in a strickly cover band a few years ago. We ha about 250 that we could do VERY well at a moments notice.
'Dead skunk in the middle of the road' was a crowd favorite for some reason & stands out in my crazed mind tonight.
Most of my tunes I play solo now are covers too http://www.kentarnsbarger.com - then 'song list'

If you're talking to me, thanks! I've collected some jewels in the last 18 years.
My current go-to -- other than my Les Paul -- is my Gretsch GT6196T COuntry Club. I haven't taken a pic of it yet, but here's what it looks like:
She plays AWESOME, and can, literally, cover any base from jazz to metal -- for real.

I'm impressed ! Funny thing whenever I decide to work out a new cover it seems like " oh, this one is easy' and then I start listening to the song over and over till I hear sounds I never distinguished before and at the end it always turns out much more difficult. For instance the bending in the "very simple" guitar solo in come together (beatles) requires very good hearing.Easy to srcew up! The 2nd guitar in Camarillo Brillo needs perfect timing. Well you figured out I´m not a pro, and after 35 years of playing I still only own 2 immitations of the real thing, and a cheesy little amp...You guessed it, I´m the Joe from 'Joe´s garage'.

Well considering it took Johnny Cash to actually make a version that didn't sound like a whiney little drama queen bitch…yeah, I meant Johnny Cash.

I realize you're just being contrarian, but every band I've ever played in, the cover songs were specified by version we were covering.

Same, hence the reason Last Kiss has the artist listed as Pearl Jam in my list.

I'm not a musician, but my father is (semi-retired).
He plays Greek music.
His instrument:
His amplifier:
At the last gig he played, the bass guitar player he had was eying his amplifier jealously.
