Perhaps your methodology and sources are at fault? I didn't know newsweek still existed.
We know, dear. You've said.
Yet, you do not seem to defend Trump's antics beyond "haha not hillary." Do you really think this creature is seriously doing a good job as president? Do you think he's respecting the office? Do you think he is garnering respect for the US with his behavior? Do you think we'll be better off in 4 years?
Or are you just hoping to see the world burn?
I will NOT defend his immaturity. I blame the LWMSM for continuing to be asses and liars and going on with all the false narratives and propaganda. RESPECTING THE OFFICE? You mean like having sex with the intern in the Oval office? Most of your concerns are because you believe in the false narratives, and you don't seem to be paying attention to just how full of shit the MSM has been. I do think we will be marginally better in 4 years.
Jesus could be the Democratic candidate, and to a Republican, Trump is a better alternative.
This is how the tribalism game is played.
If alive, Jesus wouldn't be a Dem, he'd never be pro-choice. By the same token, he'd never be a Repub because of the death penalty. Likely he'd be classical libertarian, if anything.

Your perception of mainstream Christianity is ~20 years out of date.

I heard that this evening too. Well played, well played.

On the "Jesus would be ________" topic, I'm pretty sure the whole "render unto Caesar" passage...
Matthew 22:20-22
And Jesus said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?” They said, “Caesar's.” Then he said to them, “Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.” When they heard it, they marveled. And they left him and went away.
...means that He would find our entire political system to be man-made foolishness. I can't imagine Him endorsing any of them. They are the closest thing we have to modern-day Pharisees.

That misses the point of the comment, but I understand being defensive of interpretation of your god.

If that's true, that would mean NBC brass is in on it since they claim to have evidence. That'd be an earth shaking revelation if NBC were colluding with Trump for ratings, wouldn't it? (Also Jeff Zucker would wonder what he could have done to be the one to collude with Trump)

No, I understood the point of the comment. I didn't feel particularly defensive, especially since it's you guys.
I'm just drawn to asides, and there's no other outlet for me to express this, as most people in my world believe that Jesus would be a featured speaker at the Republican National Convention every four years.
There are claims of black mail that Trump has seemingly confirmed.
To cut to the chase, though, if Scarborough has the receipts he should publish them immediately. Not doing so is a disservice to the people who should know. If he doesn't make them public I'm left to assume he was bluffing like Trump with Comey or he's trying to protect Trump still.
Best comment so far is Joe saying this is not the Trump he knows. ****ing imbeciles.

Exactly, both of our major parties would turn his stomach.

Jawbone and Snow-i (if you're monitoring this thread), I have a question for you, if you don't mind...
If you could choose between Obama or Trump being the US president, who would you choose?
It's hard to project tone in a forum post, so don't misinterpret my intentions — I don't mean to sound snarky, but the purpose of such a question feels loaded, even if you didn't mean it that way. I don't consider myself to be ducking the question by saying, "Neither."
I have/had serious disagreements with both men.
- I disagree with Trump's behavior, and I think he's mostly void of integrity. Since I'm not sure about his motivations, I have trouble trusting his policymaking. As far as I can tell, he's done little (if anything) to build any relationships with anyone outside of his camp. I'm worried he's recklessly destroying the conservative movement.
- I disagreed with most of Obama's policies, especially in regards to the economy. I think it's ironic that his response to difficult circumstances seemed to do more harm to race relations than anyone could have expected. He's likable, and I do believe that Obama has integrity, but it's formed by a worldview that doesn't coincide with my own.
Do you really want to open up the can of worms of old testament God/Jesus vs. new testament? Old testament God/Jesus was ****ing goofy.
He's not talking about the Old Testament, Jesus wasn't in the Old Testament, FYI. "Biblical Jesus" is the one from the actual Bible, Postmodern "hippie" Jesus is an ignorant new-age interpretation.

Thanks for this answer, Jawbone, it seems fair and reasonable and definitely appreciated.
May I press a little further? I understand how one might disagree with Obama's policies, but at the end of the day not a ton changed from them, no? He moved the needle a little, but would you agree that this was a far cry from the sort of "radical transformation" rhetoric we heard coming from the right? I was always puzzled that a certain population mocked his whole "change" thing claiming that little had changed, and another was going on about this radical transformation of America thing. Would you agree that the latter was at least a little overblown at times?
I would assume you'd agree that the most radical transformation was the ACA, but would you also agree that despite its many flaws it was an improvement over what existed prior (particularly in the area of patient protections), and is better than what is being proposed now?
If your issues are mostly with what Obama would have liked to have done without any obstruction, that makes sense, but then I guess to return to my original question, is mostly status quo/slight needle moving better than Trump chaos at this point?
I'm just having a hard time understanding how anybody would say that we are better off now.
