hi everybody,

i'm writing this on my old powermac from os 9...

i have a powerbook g4 400, os 10.2, no haxies installed.
i was reading the fora when i got a kernel panic out of the blue (no firewire devices attached, external usb keyboard and external usb mouse attached). rebooted and was stuck at the blue screen with a spinning beach ball.

booting from the install cd and running disk utility: no problems found, but i couldn't mount any of my two partitions in order to check the privileges.
can't boot into os 9 on the other partition, computer just restarts after showing me the smiling mac.

booting into single user mode and running fsck... it reported no errors *but*
reported:

disk0s9: 0x8 (UNDEFINED)

please don't tell me there's anything wrong with any drivers.

please help!

turned the powerbook off and took a long long shower. -- usually helps me have good ideas.

turned on the powerbook and things seem to be back to normal again.

i don't even want to know... -- just a recommendation: it's sunday. do a backup!
