I did buy a PS2 just to play Final Fantasy.

Same reason I bought a SNES, same reason I bought the PSX.

Twisted Metal Black is wicked cool, and Star Wars The Clone Wars looks promising.

Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth looks awesome if you have friends who like to sit around playing games together. I am sure single player sucks as usualy.

GTA3 rocked, but Vice City was just GTA3 w/ an 80's look thrown on it.

It may not have the length of Grand Theft Auto or Final Fantasy X but my vote has to go to Metal Gear Solid 2, it's a great game with an awesome story line.

Max Payne was class for running about and shooting and using the bullet time thing. - Diving backwards over a bannister to land on a lower floor and wasting 6 guys without taking a hit
Metal Gear Solid 2 was good fun but when i played it I had no memory card so I couldn't save
GTA3 is brilliant. Vice City looks great, buying property and going into shops should add a whole new dimension to the game.

Thats lucky for me, as the other day I bought a new PS2, and with it, I got.................GTA vice city..... and I have been playing it ever since.......I had a ps1, but never any Grand theft games.

I remember atari's and the old ping pong tennis games........ there have been some"landmark" type of games and GTA would be one for me. --- a driving game with go anywhere ability to it. and you can do things that are not allowed on the real streets.

I also bought time splitters 2,(--not played it much yet) and Lord of the rings...... (bit of a movie tekken style so far..)

No, that game was rushed to the market for the holiday season.

It looks the same graphics wise as GTA3. No technological improvements.

I can fly an RC Copter. woohoo. Oh, and motorcycles. yippee.

Along with a map 3 times the size of the original, tons more missions, boats, porn stars and more intelligent cops...

GTA: VC is a lot better than GTA3, sorry to tell you Justin.

Yeah, thats why it came out in October, because everyone knows October is 'holiday season'. Your dimwitted arugment would halfass make sense if it was ACTUALLY released in the holiday season, but it hasn't been. The game looks DIFFERETN from GTA, the graphics are improved quit a bit. You can fly RC copters, real choppers, bikes, boats, planes, you can buy property AND assets, theres actually a story line, over 8 hours of great radio stations, the cops are a lot more difficult, cops come out of the helicopters on ropes, and there's FINALLY an in game map.

Personally, I think you're just pissed off because your parents haven't bought you it yet.

Justin you don't have the game do you? They improved the AI, lighting and you can fly around in a real helicopter. It is much better then the last one.

ouch

but I do have to say the graphics at way way better the GTA3, for example in vice city get in that Cuban Hurmes the one with the flames one it. and with a good tv and svideo there is tons of reflections off of the car and the flames the come out of the side pipes is really realistic. to bad I played it too much last week now I am kind of sick of it, haven't touched it in over 5 days.

I GOT WASTED WITH PHIL SHERRY!!!

The GTA series and the Final Fantasy series. That would be the only reason to buy a PS2.

Medal of Honor Frontline. I loved the MoH games on the PS1 and this is superb. A great first person shooter but notable really for the atmosphere and feel of the levels - completely convincing. I've just been playing the Nijmegen bridge level and actually get a feeling of vertigo when I'm up on top of the bridge. OK, so the level design is pretty much linear, but it doesnt detract from the gameplay. In fact, I quite like it.

I played it for 5 days, and came to my conclusion. It's my opinion. If you all don't like it, thats your right. At least some people can handle it a lot better than others...

As far as I'm concerned, yes.

For ten years, Final Fantasy IV (II US) was my favorite game of all time. Ico topped FF4 by a huge margin. Everything about this game is perfect.

Ico is proof that games can be art. Art that wouldn't have worked another medium. (Well, maybe as a series of paintings.) We are not going to see a game as artistically impressive as Ico for a long time.

But don't take my word for it. You can pick up a copy of Ico for $20 to $30 at many places now.
