i wouldnt really use internal notebook speakers for anything but system sounds. no matter how "good" those speaker are.... in reality it will always sound sh*tty.so, for listening to music, theres no way but hooking it up somewhere, or plugging in some headphones. thats my opinion.

hey gang,

i hace an icebook500 that has seen a very noticiable decrease in overall volume level after installing jag/10.2.2.

now i'm using a ti 550 that came with 10.1.1.
After installing 10.2 the overall sound level went a third of it was.

this doesnt appear to be hardware related but a something of a Jag problem.
the Ti speakers are not B&W Nautilus speakers but at least you expect to hear SOMETHING on them. Now in a crowded noisy room they're (speakers) unhearable.

I think the TiGz sounds better than the other Ti's. I think I heard the speakers were different. In a quiet room I think they are good enough to listen to music or movie previews etc, but definitely not good enough to enjoy them. And if there is much background noise forget even knowing if they are on or muted.

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

I found the sound on this generation of Powerbooks much better than on the first generation of G4 Powerbooks. Before, anything that required sound required headphones. Now, I can watch a movie or play a game and use only the built in speakers. They are not great compared to external speakers, but good enough for a laptop.

As laptop speakers go, these new Powerbook speakers really aren't that bad.

I've been noticing on my Gigabook that the lower blips on the onscreen volume graph are totally inaudible, even when the machine has both fans off

Guess I'm glad everyone seems to have low volume issues.

I agree with Tomster. I had a 667 VGA, and the sound coming out of my Superbook is noticibly better. Not great, but surely better than before. Link to documentation of new speakers?

Well, the internal speakers are not my problem. I'm just afraid that the volume put out by the sound-out minijack is lower then average.
