I'm just wondering if anyone has done an edit of QuickSilver with true 10.2 style Aqua elements (but b&w of course)?
I know about Lars Wiegman's QuickSilverR, but the b&w Aqua elements are still the old style of Aqua, with blurry edges and shadows.
If there isn't one with the 10.2 style elements, I'm very tempted to make it myself. I'll probably not release it though, since Lars Wiegman's edit is already out. Plus I don't like distributing stuff that isn't my own creation

Anyway, I hope someone can clearify this to me. Thanks.

NEVER release modified themes without the authors consent. It's rude.

modify and release whatever you want...the original creator of quicksilver is unknown and cannot be found...quicksilverR is a mod release and not by the original creator...i guess you could call it open source...

Cool! Do it!!! And post a screenshot here so I can see what you are all talking about.

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

So I take it there isn't one then.. I'll look into it during the weekend.. Obviously I won't take any credit for it, if I release it. Can anyone else confirm that the author of the original theme is unknown, before I do something I shouldn't?

Ok, I did it, and it turned out pretty good. I can't release it though, since I used some modified resources from other themes. Thanks anyway though guys.

Wasn't it Cerbero? It reads cerbero in the address.

I don't see why you can't distribute it, I'd love to have it...maybe you could email it to me?

I can't distribute it since I've used modified resources from other authors, and I don't have any permission to distribute those. I respect these authors so I won't release it publically. Sorry
And yes, I posted that screenshot

If it's from SmoothStripes, you can have my permission. I don't want to stop anyone from releasing a theme, I just want them to ask me first and then include me in the credits.

Fluid: Hehe, no problem

Ok, I've decided to release the theme after all, because of the demand, and Max's permission (Thanks. You're mentioned in the ReadMe.). I removed everything that had to do with other themes (at least I think so ).

Here's the link:
Iridium QuickSilver Remix GZipped Disk Image (1.04 mb)

[edit] Oh, and BTW, there will probably be an update tomorrow or the day after that, since I'm planning on editing the brushed metal appearance too.

It looks nice. That was one of the very first themes that I installed when I switched to the Mac.

Yeah, the theme looks good. Although I think the menu transparency is a little bit heavy, has it always been like this?
And you should change the theme tags from "10.2.4" to just "10.2", that way Duality can also switch the theme.
And if you feel like it, you could perhaps update the x-+ buttons, scrolls and progressbars with those from SmoothStripes.

Yeah, I remember that the original theme had very translucent menus, but I could do a variation with opaque ones. Thanks for the tip about Duality.
I'll check later how it looks with the smoothstripes widgets too, thanks.

Would it be hard to make a version with rounded title bars? What resources would one have to change?

Yes Cerbero, could you also make a rounded corner version also, please? That would be awesome!
