I recently got a Sony DCR-VX2000 camcorder, and need to begin editing on my dual gig. The connection on the cam is an IEEE-1394...a smallish female port. I need to get from that into my firewire input on the Mac.

Any idea what cable I need to purchase?

A firewire cable.

Here's the type of cable you need (4-pin to 6-pin). I'm not recommending the store, they just had a good picture.

I do, however, recomment NewEgg. They have great prices on stuff. And the have the FireWire cable for US$3!

Edit: added NewEgg info.
