IP 169.254.178.33 shows up in my "connect to server" window. I have no idea what it is or who it belongs to. I've tried to ping it and I get a "host is down" I have a DSL conectiion with a linksys router.

Those IPs are given out by ZeroConf/Rendezvous or DHCP if you don't specify your IP manually - they are all of the form 169.254.x.y. So I wouldn't worry.

Thanks I had not seen it before. Why would it show up now I haven't changed anything in directory services and I've always had a static IP?
