Well, the time's coming, for the renewal of .Mac...just wondering who all is renewing, and who will find something else.
I don't think I'll be renewing, since I only signed up last year because of the $50 deal...I don't think I can pay $100 this year...especially since I'm gonna be buying Panther..

Shouldn't this be a POLL and isn't this the 10th thread on the same topic?

I haven't decided yet, but I've got until October until it runs out. I'm curious to see if a free copy of the Sims or Everquest is the best they will offer for a re-subscribe. I'd really rather just have a discount. BTW, there's a poll here.

How do you choose which free thing to get? I can't see how you resubscribe.

No need to be a dick, I didn't realize it had been posted. Otherwise I wouldn't have posted it.

Nah I'll have my college email address to use permanently, so I won't need it.

I use .Mac a lot, so Apple can have my money gladly...

However, if they don't give me a reduced price 10.3 upgrade option with my G5 (which looks like the case...), I may be somewhat less compliant...

Peace,

Marc

I use .Mac a lot. In fact I have bought extra disk space and 2 email accounts!

Service can be a bit bad (mail bouncing, out of date virus definitions etc.) - hopefully it will improve with time.

Would really like to see a reduced price on 10.3 for all us .Mac subscribers!

I am contemplating getting it. I am in the process of starting up a new busineess and the ability to synch our calenders is very tempting. Problem is, I can't think of any use for any of the other stuff.

Not renewing..

only used it as a email address and never once used any of the stuff on .mac dot com website so for me it is just not worth it.

but I'm a web designer and have my own domain names for posting etc... I think .mac would be worth it if I didn't already have my own webpages.

I'd pay 50 bucks a year for the email by itself, but the other stuff is not worth anything to me.

I'm going to renew for three simple reasons:

1) iDisk. It rocks. And with Panther it's only going to get better.

2) E-mail. I guess I'm just lucky, but so far I haven't experienced one of the problems that people have been reporting about .mac e-mail. I absolutely love having a simple e-mail address as well; [email protected] is so much easier than all the other addresses that I've had to deal with.

3) Free Sims. Damn, but that's good news! I thought .mac was worth $100, I honestly did. But $50? How could I pass this up?

Hell yeah! I use most of the features multiple times EVERY DAY. It would be worth much more than $100 to me.
