I'll get mine soon.

It's a ok CD, kinda tame. I guess Perry lost his Angst once he became a rich rawwk staaaaw .

Have you ever seen that movie "The Gift"?

I had it on tape once, bought it when it came out. But a ex took it in a split up once.

I've been trying to find it on the net, with no avail.

I heard they made a new movie "Three Days" not too long ago. Haven't seen it though.

I saw them back in 91, The Rollins Band opened for them.

Been a fan since 88 when Nothings Shocking came out. Had to special order the CD.

But Deconstruction is still my favorite "Jane"s" album.

I think Dave and Eric showed that Perry wasn't the magic behind the band. He was just a part of it.

I have a really bad copy (I think they all are since most of it was done on a camcorder) of The Gift that I would consider lending out, but it'll have to be in a few weeks when I unpack it. PM me if you really want it. Or I'm sure someone at xiola.com has a copy for sale.

Zimphire still:

My friend got NS on tape on a whim when it first came out because she thought the cover looked interesting. I borrowed the tape the next day and got hooked just like that. Saw them for the first time in Indy in 91 with Rollins. Was supposed to be 24/7 Spyz, but those are the breaks.

I've got the Gift on DVD, I think it's the same film you're talking about.

I would say they are my favorite band.

Saw them at the first Lollapalooza in '91 also like Zimphire.

I also saw them again a year ago.

"personal usage" and of anything jane's addiction really makes me feel oogy.

I saw them back in '87 or '88 when they opened for Love and Rockets and they have made me feel a bit squeamish every since. I don't out and out dislike the music, but perry ferrell really gives me the creeps.

Do you remember Bauhaus? I loved them, still listen to them too. Wasn't too keen on love and Rockets though, a bit too poppy for me.

Zimphire, what film The Gift are you talking about? The pseudo-horror flick?

Apologies for the ignorance.

That'd be something to hear, might have to have a hunt for some bootlegs.
I've not listened to Jane's since the split years ago, not really kept up to scratch on what's hapenning with them, only just found out that they've got back together via a flyer on a traffic light.

I have a mp3 of Jane's doing a song called Bobhaus It was the band playing the music to "Burning from the inside" and Perry singing the Lyrics to "Like a Rolling Stone" By Bob Dylan over top.

Naw, Perry and his then GF Casey made a flick. It was based loosely on their rock star lifestyle. With a lot of exaggeration. Like I don't recall any of Perry's finding any of his GFs dead of a drug overdose in his house, then takes her into his bathtub and had sex with her.

Real strange twisted stuff.

I'd like to hear that, I might go a hunting later tonight for it. I'm trying to chase down the album of punk versions of the Smiths songs.

Yeah, sounds like it. Wouldn't mind catching that too. I haven't given the whole indie side of music a look atr for years, last thing I remember was the Sisters of Mercy being cool, and New Model Army were coming at ye.
