As I have just read if you buy today (9th) your Apple , you will have Panther installed in your computer.

Glad I waited a few days, hope it is worth.

And as I had supposed you have it in main apple site. Here you can find out.

Customers who purchase a qualifying new Macintosh computer on or after October 8, 2003 THAT DOES NOT HAVE Mac OS X Panther v10.3 INCLUDED can upgrade to Mac OS X Panther.

I understand that it is supposed to be included from today. Do not you understand the same?

yes, you get a free upgrade [only pay the shipping].
However, on the Spanish site they say that if you have bought MacOSX10.2, or MacOSX10.2 Server, you get a free upgrade too.
The English site just talks about hardware.

You are right , there is a difference,
the spanish site mekes reference to Software+Hardware and the International one talks only about Hardware.
Now we will have to find out who made the mistake 'cause all are supposed to offer the same , apart from diferent prices.

Are you sure they are supposed to be the same?
Often there are "special" deals here and there. Take "educational" pricing. In Spain, you qualify for "educational" if your university buys 10 or more copies of Mac OS X [at least that is what Apple, Spain, told me last year].

It would have also been nice if the European Apple prices [before tax] would have been the same as in the States... but then again...

So up to what you may understand, would we consider that from today all Hardware is shipped with Panther?, because I do understand so, and I want to be sure before placing my order.

I'd wait until the 24th to order if you want to be sure. I'm ordering from a non-Apple source, so I am going to wait until at least the 30th for them to clear any old inventory with 10.2 included.

No. You will most likely get Jaguar installed and the install CD if you order now but will recieve an upgrade coupon to order Panther for US$ 19.95.

Perhaps I am wrong (hopefully) and it comes installed.

No. Do not consider that.

The only thing you must consider is that new macs can ship with Jaguar and you get a coupon to get Panther for "free", that is paying shipping handles.

I doubt it, very much.
Remember that "after October 8th" is any time between now and 2053, so Apple's claim that you can upgrade to Panther if it's not included after that date makes perfect sense, and doesn't really even TOUCH on whether or not it's installed on computers before the 24th.

As others have said, I don't take that to mean Panther will be installed on systems starting today. It just means if you order a system today, you can get an upgrade CD to Panther later.
