I am signed up with apple as a student developer, and I have already purchased a computer using their once in a lifetime super phatty discount. I was wondering if anyone knew wether I can buy an ipod at the discounted price, even though I have already recieved my computer?

I think you can get a iPod at the student discount... Is that the deal you are talking about?
They only say one computer per year...

No, he's talking about the ADC discount. One time 20% off coupon. Not the EDU store.

you can always get a refrub. I sold my 10GB thinking I was going to add money back to my bank account after my hard drive purchases but I couldn't just drop the iPod that easily.
Now I am the owner of a 30GB for less than the price of a 20GB.

20%... that's crazy...
I wonder how much Apple really pays for their CPUs...
High end G5... I would guess $1800, but I'm guessing...

But if you take into account the $100 ADC fee, is that discount still 20%?

I think they would but nowhere does it say they have to make money on every single computer they sell.
Giving developers a computer at a discount in hope they will develop for the platform.
It is or kind of like loss leading in retail. sell something for less than you bought it for to get customers in to your store and buy something less.

added: apple employees get a once a year 25% discount on computers.
I don't know if Apple Store clerks do but tech support does.

I dunno, I just ordered the new 40 gig anyway through the student ADC store and it shipped yesterday. I was only charged $399...
