I am in the process of compiling my order for my AL 15" book (white spots be damned..) . I have Apple 15" Studio display on my current 466MB G4 that I want to continue to use as a second monitor. I also have a crappy old sony VGA monitor that I will use when 'down the shore.

Does anyone know option for hooking up the AlBook's DVI Port up to a ADC monitor that is less expensive than the $79 -$99 thingy I see offered by Apple and Other World Computing?

Gefen & Dr. Bott makes one as well, but Apple's is cheapest and most sure to work 100% right...I've got Apple's unit and would definitely recommend that one.

I just needed some reassurance that this is money well spent.

Just check that the Apple DVI to ADC adapter works properly with the screen and powerbook before you take it home.

It took three units before I had one that worked properly.

I'm really happy with it now that all's working well, but it was inconvenient having to go back to the store.
