As much as I would love to have it, I don't *need* it. I'm running a Pismo with Jaguar, purchased last year. This should hold me out until my next PowerBook purchase sometime next year. $129.00 per year is pretty steep when you just want the upgrade for the "coolness factor" ;-)

I got it on Friday and am loving it. I thought I wouldn't like the new Finder, but I really do. It is so easy to navigate your HD now with the sidebar. I am still exploring and reinstalling things. My advice is 'GET IT'!!

I got it, and installed it on Friday. So far, having no problem with it what so ever, and I love it to death!

If this isn't a home run, then it's at least a stand-up triple. Panther is faster, more stable (at least for me, on three different computers), and packed with new features that are far more than just eye candy. If Jaguar was worth the $129, this is easily worth double that. Oh yeah, I'm a fan!

I value too much being able to surf the net in Barnes & Noble, airports etc.
Threads in the Networking and OS X forums report WAY too many troubles with trouble connecting to a WIRELESS connection (perhaps worse with Airport EXTREME?) or with getting/keeping an internet connection if you can connect to the network.
In fact, in those threads, NOBODY seems to be writing in saying "great Airport and Internet connection on my PB" with PANTHER. Love to hear someone here who's got positive experience.

gotta tell u, the difference in speed from 10.2.8 to 10.3 on my pismo is significant.
fast, lean...first time since os9 my pb doesn't feel sluggish.
the finder rocks, the sidebar, the app switcher...
and my networking is perfect (ethernet cable modem, airport/netgear router)
everything is fast! best mac os ever...
