So Ive had my ibook for 2 weeks or so now, and the day I got it I somehow got iTunes to announce the name of the song and the artist using the voice synthesizer when a song began playing. For the life of me though, i cannot find how to do it again. I guess it didnt save the preferences. If i recall correctly though, I thought i just checked a box in prefs (or somewhere) that said "announce songs in iTunes". I remember thinking at the time... "wtf does this do?" cuz i didn't know of osx's "voice".

While not a particularly useful feature, id like to play with it a bit. Anyone got any ideas where it is? Am i crazy? Thanks for any help

Yes, you're crazy to want your Mac talking all the time for fun. I figure if the bitch won't listen, why should I have to?

Play around in the Sys Preferences - "Universal Access" and "Speech".

Enjoy.

Have you got "konfabulator" Installed? it has a "itunes remote" widget that has on option to "Announce track information"

Now I know you're nuts.

Let's see if you can be the one to use confab the longest.

At a couple weeks already, you're well on the way to the record.
