i just picked up a copy of ae 6.0. i've dabbled with earlier versions but am by no means well-versed in this wonderful program.

anyone have suggetions / ideas for good training materials? been looking at adobe's classroom in a book as a starting point. is that one good? bad? ok-ish?

i also frequent the adobe user forum for tips, tricks and support. any other forums or sites i should check out?

thx.

You could give lynda.com a try
25 bucks a month and you get access to tons of different video classes
I'm pretty happy with it so far

A few great books.

Creating Motion Graphics with After Effects (2 books essantials and advanced)
After Effects in Production
Those books are by Trish & Chris Meyer. The're about 50$ each but a great investment.

I used classroom in a book for 5.5 (Actually the book is for version 5) and I think its great. With any book like that though, make sure you leave yourselft plenty of time to complete it.
