Montoya stood up and stole that game against the Finns for you. It'll be interesting to see how he stands up to 4 lines of raw Canadian power in the final though. Should be an interesting game.

Go Canada Go.....

This worries me not. Canada dominates the world in hockey, as is proper. We will destroy the US.

At least we'll be able to beat them in SOMETHING for crying out loud. I'm glad it's hockey!!

Actually, that is relevant in this situation because the Canadian goaltender scored on himself to untie the game.

He hope he got shot after that game... I heard Canada was up 2-1 and I was happy, but then turned the TV on just to see that final goal.

It was looking really good.

It was 3-1 and Getzlaf had a perfect opportunity to make it 4-1 early in the 3rd and totally ice the game...but Montoya made an amazing save and after that it was all downhill.

We just looked so damn flat footed after the Americans tied the game at 3.

I still can't believe it.

Yeah, I really blew this one eh? We would have won if it wasn't for Fleury...well, we probably wouldn't have been up 3-1 at any point if it wasn't for Fleury...err, what was I trying to say again?

As much as I WANT to blame Fleury, random things like this happen in hockey. It sucks, but that's the game.

Crap, I'm so disappointed!

It was a great game; close to the final horn. Anyone blaming Fleury for the loss should remember a few things:

Team Canada won two of three periods. They lost the third. In a one-game series, a lost period can lead to a lost cause.

Fleury made a number of excellent acrobatic saves earlier in the period. If not for that fluke goal off the clearing play, we'd be discussing those instead.

The American team was a worthy foe, with more experience on the big ice. They played their system cohesively and had great (at times outstanding) goaltending.

Canadians are so accustomed to winning in hockey that anything less than gold throws us for a collective loop. Never fear; ours is still the pre-eminent hockey nation, as our brimming international trophy case and majority NHL contributor status would tend to suggest.

True, we have a ton of tropies from this tournament, but Canada has gone oh-fer in the last seven years. That blows. We should be better than that.
