im quite sure its powerbook(and iBook) only, cus we are the ones who have our F1-F12 keys used for brightness and volume etc. powermacs and imacs doesnt need this.

The other think I noticed was under bluetooth. the battery bar now has seperators instead of being a solid bar.

Don't get your hopes up, the function keys seems not to be working in some games...Halo for example.

I will stick with uControl instead (when they release the 10.3.3 version, that is!)

Nevermind, a restart fixed the problem, now the function keys work exactly the way they should. Kudos Apple.

For me this works for all of the function keys except for the ones reserved for Expose (F9, F10, F11). Is there any way to set up my PowerBook so that Expose does not kick in unless I specifically hit fn+F9? Right now Expose is ignoring that checkbox and still kicking in without me holding down fn.

Fothb, if you checked the checkbox, that's how it's supposed to work. You don't need to use the fn button.

Thanks for adding this, Apple. Why aren't changes like this mentioned in the release notes?? I wouldn't have found out about this new feature without this thread, and I wonder what other changes there have been that I might find useful.

I had checked the box. I just tried it again just now... I left the checkbox checked and even restarted, and made sure the box was still checked. If I press F9-F11, Expose still launches, with or without me holding down Fn. I want it to launch when I hold down Fn, but send the literal function key command when I don't hold down Fn. The feature is still pretty cool for F1-F8 and I'm certainly not complaining, but these other keys don't work for me and it'd be cool if they did.
