This was a great show! I think i enjoyed it more than any movie i've seen this year. The whole thing was fun to watch. The main character (Hellboy) has such a great sense of humor. I recommend the movie to you all.

Went to see it tonight.
Freakin Rawked. Action. Bad ass big red dude. Blood, guts. Subtle and not-so-subtle humor.
I'm adding it to my DVD collection as soon as it's released.
Ron Perlman was perfect for the Hellboy role.

Wow I haven't seen it yet but I gotta say I'm surprised. It looked really cheesy to me but I'll go give it a chance. I'm always up for some good action.

I guess I'm just turned off by the name "Hellboy." I mean, come on.

it was pretty good. the final fight didn't really seem like a final fight, and it always felt like something else was going to happen. overall, it was pretty good.

I liked it, but didn't it seem like it was about 20 minutes too long?
I was torn by my desire to keep watching the movie, and my desire to be outside doing something, anything else.

It was great, almost as funny as Spawn. I mean, when the baddie exploded at the end, I couldn't stop laughing at the sheer cheesiness for three minutes. Mmm, pulpy.

I totally agree! Though he was great in the role!
When I first saw he was the lead I thought... ehh...
Good flick. Much better than LXG.

4 gripes:
1) There were a ton of loose ends. They ditch one of the most interesting characters 45 minutes to the end and never refernce him after that. THe plot had a few big holes
2) All the monsters looked very similar. I wouldn't have minded a bit of variety outside of minor size/layout variations on the grey tentacley idea.
3) The place I saw it in seemed to be going through some sort of turmoil that night (e.g. they were totally unable to make credit card transactions when we walked in) weather or not that was related to the fact that the sound cut out for 2 or 3 minutes about 25 minutes into the movie. It came back on but by then the flow of the film was absolutely fcked.
4) Everybody in the theater was talking and answering their cell phones the entire time. There were a number of points where it was all I could do not to stand up and yell "SHUT THE FCK UP!!!" I feel like if I had done that it would have been met with jeers and I would only have added to the problem.
needless to say we got a refund from the manager when we bounced.
Outside of those issues I have to say it was a pretty exciting movie. The plot was rather unusual and the dialogue was quirky and fresh. The look was very good and the visual effects only looked creepy a few times.

i am kinda suprised that eveyone seemed to like it... i mean i did, but i didn't expect everyone else to. when we were leaving the theater we heard people saying that it was dumb, or horrible, etc.. I juust thought it was awsome. Glad to know that others felt the same way. Ya, the ending battle was not the best, but Hellboy sure is a funny guy (right up to the end).

Of those people who saw it and didn't like it, I'm willing to bet a handful of them had no clue of the pre-existence of Hellboy in the form of a comic book.
Maybe some thought it was a rebuttle to "Passion of The Christ"
