Hey, I noticed that Apple is selling refurb iBook G4's with a stanard CD ROM drive instead of a Combo drive. Is it possible to buy a normal combo drive and install it myself (I'm capable of this..) and if so, where can I buy one?

Can you do it, yes. Is it a smart move, no. Touching anything inside that iBook voids your warranty.
Plus its not stadard. Only a couple models will even fit in there right.

Anyone? I'd like to order this thing soon, but I need to make sure I can get a combo drive for it.
Thanks!

Thanks, but I think it is simply too expensive for my needs. Plus, I really don't need the DVD burning feature. Just the DVD reading and CD writing.
