I think that the finder buttons look much better. The version i installed has no safari buttons but I'd think they'd look ok if they were edited like the finder buttons.
As far as the menu goes.... I think that the top bar (1) should look more like the window bar (2).

something went strangely wrong with this B3 upgrade...
most of the changes seem to have disappeared from the Theme.
I'll see if I can work out what went wrong.
....
yes, it seems that the Safari skin in the black version is missing.
Initially when I imported it yesterday, I noticed that there were 2 Safari skins in the black version (the first of which was empty, the second normal.)
However, now there are none, and ThemePark is temporarily fighting me over creating a new Safari skin. I will try rebooting a few times, and hopefully I'll get the corrected beta 3 out soon.

I agree, constancy is a major issue with making anything design wise.

Yes the missing Safari buttons was a major Ooops! =/
fixed now. =)
menu bar:
The window title bar (2) has a double ribbing along the top. The top rib is a 'bug' (well, that's what I'm calling it). The mask should be cutting it off, but at this stage the mask for the metal top fill doesn't work.
Surprisingly, (1) and (2) are using the same gradient... if you ignore the extra rib, (1) shows the entire gradient, while (2) only shows the top of it. (2) also has the title indent in the middle of it. (Yeah, I know... excuses excuses... LOL)
This image also points out something else... the highlight that sits under the right corner of the new buttons, is a little aggressive. The highlight transparency was designed to be more subtle, but it has shown up much stronger than expected.
Here is a preview of b2 http://www.resexcellence.com/themes/...onbeta2_lg.jpg

I love love how DT has made metal windows look like Aqua (by having a tangible titlebar), and made Aqua windows look like metal (by giving them the "same-surface-all-over" look). That's just so cool for whatever reason.

No, it really doesn't.
I respect the ambition though!

Looks like lots of work has gone into it, encapsulates everything
about the overly designed kaleidoscope schemes that were floating
about in the platinum 'classic' days. Good luck in continuing the
tradition.
