I just got offered a Genius position at a newly opening apple store. I got seriously low-balled on the offer in terms of hours (PT), pay, and start date. No wonder the Geniuses have such a bad reputation, as it seems Apple doesn't care to find or keep quality people. I'm going to keep the offer as a fall back, but I doubt I'll take it. It was an interesting experience though.

Interesting, what area? If you don't mind telling, what kind of $$ is being offered for "X" amount of hours?

Probably under non-disclosure?

Can your pay be NDA'd? That's kind of weird...

I wonder if those geniuses make "genius" pay, hehe.

I'll elaborate once I get my official offer, as there may or may not be confidentiality issues. While you wait, check out this link.

I don't mind working PT hours as long as it supports my just-out-of-college lifestyle, but it looks like I might have to get another PT job if I work there.

I'm going to tell the IRS I'm under NDA.

I know from my friends at the Apple Store that the pay is under NDA.

I turned down a job at the Apple store because of being lowballed on hours.

I am definitely qualified to have the position of mac genius, but i have found the employees in the mac store to be rather rude at times.
If you do take the job, please remember to have patience.
