i've been told you can use that to fix dead pixels on your TFT flatpanel.
if you try it, i hope it works for you.

no. that's a jpeg image of a medium blue pixel.

capable of being faithfully reproduced even with substandard 256-color VGA displays.

My livingroom-based webserver is getting hammered by requests for images. ain't no descriptive text on my site (edited: now there is), just a bunch of pictures. No effort is made to promote the pictures nor the site...it ain't done for profit. Nine thousand folks stopped-by in the last day. Which begs the question "what draws them there?"

So let's talk about the pixel for a few minutes.

It's essentially worthless unless you have several thousand of 'em.

Even then, it can still be worthless if you have the wrong pixels or have them arranged incorrectly.

Hell, you could have a hundred million pixels and still not have anything of value (ie, lifesize photos of Hillary Clinton).

Then again, you could have a mere few dozen pixels - done right - that kick much ass (my logo).

See, in cyberspace a picture is still worth a thousand words. Across all languages and dialects...always with proper grammar, syntax, and punctuation.

Still, it isn't easy to find the right pixels. The ones that speak the truest words. It's almost easier to use words, instead. Text instead of pixels. 1000:1 word/picture ratio, remember? and you'll still need to translate that sucker into 56 languages and 671 local dialects.

"binary pictures" as I've grown to refer to words. After all, the end result is the very same...an image in your mind.

this whole pixel ordeal started the other day when somebody asked me what sort of product does Hillbilly Technologies make.

"Pixels", i said.

that's all any company - fictitious or otherwise - really makes, right?

An image in your mind. A feeling associated with that image. even after you take ownership of it - when you can touch it. experience it. yet, even still, it remains simply an image in your mind. One that can open the door to deeper feelings or past experiences, perhaps.

Whether real or imagined, the human mind cares little about the origin of the image.

In cyberspace, pixels are the building blocks of everything that can be seen. where they are, what they are - that's the trick to doing it right.

Hillbilly Technologies > pixels. who we are. what we do.

Spliffdaddy, you should branch out into pixel consignment. I've got a few extras I'm trying to unload but no one seems interested.

I have englarged the pixel using everything photoshop could throw at it, so we could examine it in finer detail.

You sure that's the same pixel? It looks different.
I think it needs a lens flare.

It's a bit derivative.

But I agree, the pixel has changed the way art and information are conveyed and thereby influenced every digital medium by enforcing new measurements and modes of construction that we all lovingly have adopted.

Hail the pixel!

I think it depends on the dot pitch of your monitor.

It looks round on my $69 generic 17" CRT.
