A Small group of diverse individuals would like to start a Neverwinter Nights campaign across the net using 2 Macs, 2 PCs and a Linux Box. Assuming we all have legal copies of NWN and that all PCs meet at least the minimum specs for NWN, I have a few questions...

1) Can I assume that there's a "server" version of NWN which I can run on the PC with the most grunt and bandwidth

2) If a server version exists, can the various platforms connect to it and have a decent game going.

3) Since most of us will be on diffrent sides of Sydney is there any voice conferencing sofware (like teamspeak etc..) that's suitable for this sort of irresponsible behaviour . Can anyone recommend anything. Thanks

1) Yes, you can download the stand-alone NWN Server and run it on a PC or Mac that will act as a dedicated server. It will need the game files and the campaigns that you want to host.

2) Yes, the server supports different platforms. Just make sure you are using the same version across all computers -- both clients AND server.

3) Irresponsible behavior? Not sure what options are available, but we've used H.323-based solutions before (not while gaming, though). Windows comes with NetMeeting. For Linux, there's GnomeMeeting and Ohphone. For Mac OS X, there's OhphoneX.

For more info, visit the NWN Community Forums. You'd need to be a registered game owner to post messages, though.
