Hi all,

I know that many of you already have iPods, but I also know that some of you don't. I just got a new 40gb (4g) iPod today in the mail, and I filmed myself opening it. Yes, I am a big dork. I thought that someone out there might enjoy seeing what it's like to open a new iPod from the box.

Here's the video (3.5mb)

http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~radian/ipod/new_ipod.mov

*bonus soundtrack included, lol

I'm going to make a video of me opening the mail.

Maybe I'll get a magazine!

Okay, cool video. Only one question - why did you pick that song? It was funny, yet really weird.

I think the real reason he made this thread was so he could sign his post.

I chose that song, because I think it's a happy go-lucky funny song. That was pretty much my mood, minus the gayness of the song.

What's engraved in the thing? Looks like a few sentances.

Having realized that "Banana Phone" was the song you used in this epenis-fest, I hope you realize you've done irreversable mental damange to anyone who watched it for more than five seconds.

What if I watched it for more than 5 seconds with the sound on mute?

Anyway to the Ori. Pos.: Congrats, but that video was terribly boring. Should've at least introduced a hot model to open it for you,,, i mean.. for us.

You might go blind, or become sterile.

I'm really very sorry.

The box is different from the earlier generation boxes...

I'm sorry about disgusting some of the above posters (and future posters out there) -- Maybe there are some people out there that can understand my excitement today. (Maybe not!) As one of the earlier posters suggested, I should've added a couple of random pics of naked chicks to the video, so that the bananaphone effect would be minimized. Or maybe that would be just wrong. Please forgive my err0r.

Anybody remember the video of a kid getting his dual G4? I remember seeing it posted here around a year ago. That was way more amusing.

I was laughing my a$s off at the video... it was great. And it was good to see what it's like to open an Ipod. Much better than still photos. Thanks... it made my morning.

It's not engraved. It was covered in a plastic film to keep it from getting scratched. On the screen it said "Do not steal music" in four languages. I'm not sure what the back of the plastic covering said, though. But, no, it's not engraved.

By the way, I wasn't trying to make a super duper entertaining video--I just know that if I weren't able to get an iPod right now, I might enjoy getting one vicariously through a video online... :^) That's why it's just a simple video of my opening a box with an iPod in it. I imagine that when most people open a package, it's not like Publisher's Clearing House rushes in the door or anything. You just open the box and are happy.
