On a recent visit to South Africa, I was chilling in the mall sipping my beer when I saw a guy carrying a shopping bag, I thought the beer was having an early effect.
I couldnt believe the name of the shop on the bag, and just ignored it till I saw another and another.
Imagine my suprise when I found the shop, and it wasnt what I expected at all.

substitute the *** with c_u_m (minus the unders)
Any strange shop names near you.

"Christelike Uitgewersmaatskappy" means Christian Publishing Company in Afrikaans. Technically that's CU! That is funny!

I know it's the name of the family that started the company...
but Sheetz always makes me laugh a little... especially because their old hot dogs will give you... ah... forget it.

Try FCUK .
When it first opened up in Union Square (San Francisco) I made a little double take before I realized I wasn't seeing what I thought I was seeing.

Not really a shop name, but close...
I picked this thing up from the vending machine down the hall.

FCUK (French Connection United Kingdom) stuff has been around in the UK for quite a long time now. Some stuff just carries the FCUK logo, and then they've done a roaring trade in t-shirt slogans like "cool as fcuk". When we were in a hostel in New York in Feb 2003, my house mate and I were going into the showers, another British guy had left some FCUK shower gel in the shower, and an american who was just getting out picked it up, read it and said "heh heh - that's funny" and held it up to show us. We thought it was a bit odd (because that stuff's been around for so long in the UK) until we twigged it obviously hadn't made it across the atlantic yet.
