I was looking for good headphones to use with my PowerBook (to listen to iTunes when on the ago, and in the dorm when I need to be quiet), and I found these.

One problem...

"Neodymium magnets for high power and low weight"

I take it that this is okay? Don't the iPod headphones have magnets, too?

Um, every pair of headphones and speakers ever made has magnets. Thats how they work. So yes, that is a good thing.

First the iSight, now the headphones. You have issues about magnets, don't you?

Shouldn't this be in the Peripherals forum? No direct question geared towards powerbooks other then you wanting to use them with it. You'll be better off posting this question there, in before a hopeful lock.

I personally hate in earphones.
Hmmm Ear wax yummie.

Someone reacentlly gave me a pair of thoes Bose Noise canceling head phones. Pretty expensive but it cancels out alot of noise. Like fans and stuff.
You can hear a slight white noise in the earphones but meh...

Much better for me because I can't turn the volume up to cancel out noise due to my tinnitus/sensitive hearing.

Everytime I see one of these punk kids with a laptop and music turned up all the way I just shake my head.

I like my Sony MDR-7506 headphones. They are headphones, not earphones. About $100.

I had Sony MDR-V700 headphones then went to the Bose Quiet Comfort2's. I can honestly say the noise canceling is nice but in terms of how I used them, and how often I used them. I took back the Bose due to replacing the battery after very short period of time. It was too much of an inconvenience to deem them worth purchasing again.

1. Those aren't headphones, they're earbuds.
2. There are a zillion threads on these in the Periphs forum, where this belonged.
3. There's extensive earbud discussion on other Mac websites, too.

No need to re-invent the wheel.

P.S. I have the earbuds in question, and I love them.
