eeer..

I've noticed something slightly disturbing (or amusing which ever you prefer). I'm not sure if this has been posted before however If I remember correctly the Black Eyed Pea's song they marketing dept used went like "Let get it started.."

However didn't the original song go... "Lets get Retarded?"

Truth in advertising?

No flame or trolling intended since I'm a proud Powerbook G4 1.5 owner.

Haha yeah, they haven't played the REAL song ANYwhere, I guess they're afraid of getting sued. Which is such BS, the world is way too PC. Argh!

The original song is just soooo much better.

Nope, the song does indeed go "Let's get it Started".

They played it at a dance the other night...

You can buy it on iTunes too.

The confusion comes from the fact that they do, in fact have BOTH songs (on the same album). "Retarded" is track 3, "Started" is track 14.

Must be an iTunes only thing. Since we don't have iTMS "daaaa-on andah" (down under .. Australia, OZ, Great Souther Land, Land of good beer etc)

The albums (amazon.com and dstore.com.au) I've check out only have the "retarded" version which could mean the "Started" version may be an exclusive iTunes thingy.

The lack of iTunes in Aussie-land mean were stuck with "retarded" unless less dubious means of acquiring it are used (WHICH I DON'T CONDONE ... :-) ... just covering my arse)

Still Apple wasn't the only one. M$ used "Start me up" (coincedence with the "Start" songs or potential conspiracy...*cue X-fILES music*) by the Rolling Stones but only stopped at "You start me up and I never stop". If they kept playing the tune, it would have read "You make a grown man cry ..." which was almost the truth.

hehe

The original CD doesn't even have the ghetto 'Started' version.

I believe more recent pressings do have it.

The only version that gets airplay in the UK is 'started'. Totally threw me the first time I heard it - I was sure I was going mad !

I've just told my fiancee about the post. She mentioned that Aus gets the "Started" version played over the air on local radio stations and after 9:30 PM, it gets switched to the "Retarded" version.

And I thought the seppos (hehe) were getting bad. *sigh*
