The numbers for President Bush keep going up and up!

Its on the radio today that the vote total percentage for Bush has increased to 52% for Bush and DOWN to 47% for Kerry.

5 points is huge!!!!!!!!!!

Can't find this anywhere I look on the web. Everybody still says 51-48, with 99 percent of precincts reporting. Got any more info?

I may be wrong, but I believe the 5% lead that showed up yesterday was a glitch. A few of the news outlets were only counting 3% of New York precincts; that change accounted for the big spike in Bush's lead. I just browsed through a few of the major outlets and they all seem to have fixed the problem.

Winning by even 1% is a landslide for Bush considering:

1. How badly the war in Iraq is going.
2. How badly the economy was doing (its just now showing signs of improvement).

This election SHOULD have been a cakewalk for an opposing party.

But there really is no opposition national party now to Republicans.

The Democratic Party has ceased to be competitive on a national basis.

That the Republicans gained seats in the House & Senate and reduced Democratic membership in both chambers to levels BELOW 1950 levels is earth shattering.

Does anyone have a senate list for 2006 on who is up for re-election? That would be very interesting to see.

It was marked thus on USAToday's map yesterday, after the results for New Mexico and Iowa came out. However, now they seem to have put it back to 52% to 48%.

A lot of you seem to be making the assumption that the Republican party is just one big monolithic block, that is going to support Bush's every whim. That just isn't so; it varies by issue. Also, just under half the voters don't agree with you; they're just not simply going to go away. There's nothing wrong with celebrating your victory; just remember to keep it in the perspective it really is.

Tell that to Congress.

I thought you guys were screaming Kerry will win easy. So it's not just the polls who have egg on their face.
