Interesting predicament I'm in, hope someone can help me out. I have a Cinema Display 23 inch (Aluminum) with the DVI port. I was wondering if it would be possible to connect this directly to a standalone DVD player with DVI out. I was at the shop, and saw an upscaling DVD player(with DVI out) that would upsize DVDs to HD resolution. I bet this would look great on the Cinema Display. anyways... anyone have any experience with this?

sounds like it should work. I would ask what their return/restocking policy is and try it out. and then report back here of course

Probably won't work, I've been told that Cinema Displays don't have a built in scaler to handle this. I tried mine on the DVI output of my HDTV receiver and it didn't work. I've heard the HP displays have a scaler and will work this way, and there are rumors that future Cinema displays will have this as well...

Most DVI DVD players require that the DVI display support security protocols. I don't think most computer displays support that.
