"Saucy G5" and "Sexy G4 Cube".

Calling it "Darkhorse" or "Trinity" is just too cool for me.

12"PB: Computer's Name: Silver Slaad HDD Name: Pandemonium (hence my location to the left)

When in college, my nickname was "Chaos Architect", shotened to "Chaositect", shortened to "Xaositect" with the X the Greek letter.

In '92 or '93 TSR (then makers of DnD) released a supplement called "Planescape", wherein one of the political factions was called "xaositects". I've used the core box from that setting for names ever since.

Internet Filtering Server (on IPCSS): Sigil (City of Doors in the setting, an inter-planar crossroads)
Airport Network: The_Great_Way (Road between all planes)
Cube: Abyss (pulled the core and sprayed inside flat black)
AS/400 (don't ask why I have a 400 at home): Mechanicus
ServerCluster: Bytopia

Other machines named based on how I feel toward them, plane names or city names commonly used.

Xaositect posted this stuff 2002.12.06:

Cube: Pandemonium
iBook: Ysgard
Airport Network: The_Great_Way
Server Cluster: Bytopia (pun intended)
AS/400: Mechanicus
Interesting to me as I look back on what's changed and why.

All the stuff on my network is named after vegetables. Computer is therefore called Aubergine.
What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.

I have a stupid naming system that goes like this:

Greek Alphabet Letter Prime.

Ex: The computer's name is Alpha Prime. [He's the Dad]
The HD's name is Gamma Prime. [I didn't like the name Beta Prime ]
My cheepy FW HD is named Delta Prime [Cheap and crappy, just like a Delta flight. Coincidence?]

I highly doubt that I will ever get 23 HDs, so the system should hold.

PowerBook G4 17-inch [Rev. A]: either Victoria or Hammerhead, depending on my mood for the day.

Victoria was the name of an altruistic former British fellow English teacher at Berlitz, who once supported her boyfriend for eight months financially when he was out of work. She also is a folk singer and has released a CD, and occasionally directs Shakespearean plays. She worked as a waitress for three years to save money for graduate school, eventually got into a graduate program in speech pathology, and then landed a related job in Albany, NY. Her boyfriend doesn't have a college degree, but now works to help maintain her Web site. He's very handsome, civil, and dedicated to helping her at all costs. (Oh, and her father incidentally reportedly had a degree in Nuclear Physics from the University of Cambridge in Cambridge, UK.)

Hammerhead was the code name of my PowerBook.

(Sorry, but the editor won't let me delete this post. I wanted to edit my earlier post, but instead posted this one with extra information, instead. It contains an extra sentence in the middle of the second paragraph with information about the weather in London, England. Can you find the sentence?)

My Power Mac is Twin Kitty (because it has two processors and to Jag and Panther on it) with drives names of Black Hole (primary drive for no reason) and The Abyss (secondary and only named to compliment the first) while my PowerBook is Mutsu (Japanese apple) with a drive name of Macintosh HD and iPod is iPod.

I got a bit lazy as I got more hardware.
