Is there any way to eliminate the sound level display that appears on the screen when you change the sound level... so that it won't show up on the screen when you're fiddling with the volume during playback of your wife's favorite dorama?

Thanks... Bill and Kaoru

Mine only shows up for 1 second, if I use the volume up-down keys.

You can always use the menubar volume, if the 1 second popup is a huge problem.

True, but it shows up dead in the middle of the screen... which the ladies find distracting.

Menubar volume is not available in fullscreen... plus that would be even more distracting.

We're watching through the telly with external amp and speakers... will have to use the amp's volume control.

There oughta' be a way....

A simple way to change this is to play around with the images. They are stored in /System/Library/CoreServices/BezelUI/Images/

Find the ones for volume and edit them (make a backup first!).

Oops... sorry, this was in the wrong forum...

Regardless, thank you Dog Like Nature... that will do the trick... once I learn about alpha layers, transparency, etc.
