Does anyone know when the fist pizza restaurant was opened in:

The UK?

Australia?

Canada?

Anywhere else?

Any more details would be very useful, the US and Italy are well documented but other places less so.
Thanks.

This site probably tells you that pizza was invented in the US, the first restaurant was in the US etc...

While it is a good resource for US store owners and those in the business, it also has links and forums to all that is pizza. I'm sure the original poster can get all the info he needs from there; he/she just needs to ask a pizza oriented site, not a mac site, about pizza history.

I hear that Pizza was made by the Italian community in New York first way back in the day, but lots of people think I'm crazy when I say that so I'll stop now.

The origins of pizza go back hundreds of years, but the first pizza shop in the US was in NYC.

You aint never tried real pizza until you've tried a NY slice.

This is an old, and perhaps fruitless argument, but I've got to say that Chicago-style pizza is 2378923478923489 times better than NY style.

It's a matter of taste. The big pan pizzas are pretty much what they have in Europe also. I prefer mine simple, without 197 ingredients on it.

Yeah, Ny pizza is known as slice pizza. About a couple of bucks for a plain slice, and slightly more for a sicilian slice (square).

Damn, now I'm all hungry and it's like 3 am, gonna make me a Digiorno.
