I was recently sent a e-mail by my ISP informing me of a Firmware update for my
D-Link Wireless ADSL Router
Not sure if this will help but
DSL-G604T is the product number

I downloaded it fine and went throught the instructiuons to install it but when it came to clicking apply it would then say "Updating, Please Wait"

The first time we left it for a good 20 mins and nothing happened, it would just stay idol

We then rang D link but they were closed for the holidays

So we rang our ISP instead
Their only advice was to wait for dlink and MAKE SURE YOU DONT TURN IT OFF

So we waited a few days for Dlink to open

Meanwhile....We had a black out and the router was turned off
We turned it back on and reconfigured the connection

and it all went fine

So after that big long episode of events
D link simply dismissed it as a problem that OS X has with firmware

I am yet to try the update with a PC

So what should i do, i have since tried it in safari and explorer
still nothing

Are there any other problems that people are having with updating firmware

Thanks heaps

Under "Tools": "Firmware" in your router's browser interface, what is listed after Current Firmware Version and Firmware Date?

Basically, if the box is working, you have either the original firmware or the new firmware. This means that you are not in that-very, very unpleasant-position of having NO firmware, and thus a broken box.

What did the ISP say the D-Link firmware upgrade did for you? Since firmware flashing is a tricky business, it's almost always better not to mess with it unless there's a compelling reason to-such as a fix for a real, serious problem, or an added feature that you really and truly need.

One more question: Did you try to upgrade the firmware using either Ethernet or Wi-Fi?

Thanks for your help people

First things first
The isp said to update the firmware on a PC, which i am able to do.

I did it on ethernet as it said to do, eventhough it is a wireless one

Also the isp said the update was mandatory and had to be done by the 7th Jan, a bit late now but at least it is still working.

I am not sure of the firmware version but it is the one that came with it

I think i will just use a PC (arrrgggghhhhh ) but desperate times call for desperate measures

The actual router is fine eventhough i have tried to do it many times, so it shows that it isnt even starting

Thanks again and i will keep you posted

The latest news is!!!

I tried to update it on a PC and it still didnt work

So DLINK said for me to send it back to them and let them handle the update

The current firmware version is
V1.00B04T01.AU

DLINK have said that if the update is not completed by the 27th of Jan, I will no longer be able to get on the internet
