We uupgraded my Powerbook a few weeks back.. so the rev. B 12" Powerbook = 1 GHz, 512 MB, 40 GB and combo...
was taken apart, and now is 1 GHz, 1,25 GHz RAM, 80 GB (5400 rpm), superdrive.

Awesome, how's the 5400 RPM drive? I take it that 1.25 "GHz" RAM helps a lot too...

What kind of external HD/case is that? Available anywhere?
Also, did you part out a 17" or is that a secondary machine?

Ups.. type heh. So 1,25 G RAM ...
The 5400 rpm drive is nice. The only downside is the battery lasts less with that hard drive and decent amount of RAM. With light use, and battery in good condition it's dropped maybe 30 mins.. 4 hours to 3,5 hours.
The 17" was taken apart too.. when it had some 18 oz green tea spilled on it. No pics of that though.. once we replace the screen for it (bad video cable) I think I'll take some pics ..

I like the pictures. It's always interesting to see how everything comes together. Depending on when the G5 PBs come out, I might want to upgrade the hard drive in the unit I have now to something faster.
Then again most of my material is on the G5 desktop so it's not that huge an issue.

I have the same one. I got it off eBay for 11 dollars and picked it up locally. Firewire and USB 2 support. Its a great little case.
The brand name on it is MOBILE DISK
