after changing a theme yesterday i loged off/on and found a flag in my taskbar, its for the character palate, how in the hell did that happend, i didnt put it there, how do i remove it? thx for helping the nub again peace.

System Preferences > International > last tab, uncheck Show in menubar.
Funny how this would have been triggered by switching themes though�

You know, the character palette can be auseful item. Did you know that you can add icons to the list of keyboard layouts icons that you can then use and using them will not have any effect on the keyboard layout you are currently using (USA for most of us). It's a pretty cool trick I learned. If you later want to do it write a follow up post and I will fill you on how you can easily perform this little hack. Peace out Macster

you can just hold cmd(apple) down and drag it off as well like any NSMenuExtra
