I installed the latest iPod Updater software and now I get the generic mounted disk icon instead of the nice iPod clickwheel one. Does anyone know how I can get that icon back as I had it before? Where would it be on my hard drive? Thanks...

If you find a folder or file with the icon you want, command-click on it, and choose copy. Then command-click the icon you want to change and Get Info. On that window, you can actually highlight the smaller icon (not the preview one) and then go Edit | Paste and paste the icon of hte file you copied over the top of the icon you have.

I have two partitions on my Mac's internal HDD and one looks like a folder with an X on it for OS X and another looks like a folder with a 9 on it for OS 9. That's the method I used to get those icons.

Thanks, but I'm already aware of that. I just don't have the icon.

have you used your iPod on a PC....I had this problem once but luckily I used the iPod icon for an iPod app that had a rather ugly icon. I'm sure somebody could send you the icon, but unfortunately I don't have your clickwheel iPod (3rd gen represent!!!).

Nope, I only have my Powerbook I've used it on. Could someone be kind enough to send me the 4G icon? My e-mail is marc[at]sports-central.org ... I would really appreciate it!

Good news, I opened an older iPod Updater and it restored the icon, so it looks like I'm good now.

also, i think you can right click, get info, and click the icon, and press the delete key. not sure if that's only for hand changed icons though.
