HI
I am looking at purchasing a new wireless bluetooth apple keyboard and mouse. However, with only having the mac mini, wont thi mean that i will lose out on a usb port, as the wireless keyboard will not have the extra usb ports on it will it?
Also, do people think that these are the best buy?
Or would I be better to pay for the upgrade to my mini?
Thanks, James

I don't think you really lose out on the USB port. Whether you plug in the regular USB keyboard or the D-Link bluetooth dongle, you've used one USB port.

Yes.

No. Remember, we're talking Apple here.
Or would I be better to pay for the upgrade to my mini?
I would (did).

Huh? The keyboard has no USB ports on it whatsoever. In the Belkin thing bluetooth?

Sorry, I was confused there. The Belkin adaptor should work, though I only have personal experience with the built-in and the D-Link.

Get a usb hub, preferedly a powered one. The wireless keyboard is too sweet to pass up.

I leave the keyboard on. You can turn it off manually using the switch at the bottom, but I only do so if I know I won't be using the keyboard for more than a day.

I have kept my keyboard turned on 24/7 since October. I haven't replaced the batteries since new. The mouse on the other hand is a different story. I bet I change the batteries every 3 weeks.
