like new 2 month old apple cinema display aluminum 23" in absolute mint condition with no dead pixels whatsoever. still on apple's one-year warranty. selling to fund a new 30" display. why buy new, and risk getting a dead pixeled unit?

i think purple fringing is also known as chromatic abberations which is usually found in high contrast areas (tree branches and sunlight) in photographs.
are you talking about the purple cast that the 23 incher (sometimes) comes with?
