How much a night for the "cheap" room? $400+?

Am I alone in failing to see a particular significance of this hotel opening?

Every time I've been to Vegas, I've hardly spent any time at all in the hotel room. Now, if you're famous, trying to keep some sort of cool image so you decide to throw parties every night in your room, I understand why you would spend $1,000 per night. As for me, if available, a $100 per night room does the trick.

Among other things, I hear they have a Ferrari and Maserati dealership the lobby....
And that nice golf course on site.... $500 for 18 anyone? Must be nice to be that loaded.

I saw this in Vegas last week a NAB, it was a sharp looking hotel that is for sure, I knew nothing about it but it was on the way to the convention center.

Pfft. I get $30/night at the Las Vegas Hilton. It's on the new monorail route now too, which goes from the airport.
Get off plane, get on monorail, check into Hilton, get back on Monorail, get blasted, get

Damn, I misread the topic as $2.78 hotel. I was all exciting about cheap hotel prices...

Does that monorail go anywhere near the Hard Rock? I have a timeshare right across the street... Haven't been out there since Feb of last year.

The only significance that I have seen the Wynn cause is that it has taken about 5,000 hotel employees from other casinos and opened up a lot of (crappy entry level) hotel jobs up and down the strip.

I'm not fond of throwing my money at other people.

Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

Didn't stay there but went through it just to see what all the hoopla was about. It is a very nice hotel. The layout is fantastic. All gaming is in the middle, it's bright, and easy to get out of when you want to. Would never stay there but it is pretty cool. There were about 75 people in line just to walk through the Ferrari dealership (it's also a classic car showroom, I think).
The monorail system is crap. In the four days I was there, it was out of service 2 days. Not uncommon according to the eople I talked to. The government pulled their matching funds to complete the system out to the airport because it sucked so bad. Not making money because no one takes it. Pretty useless if you ask me.

No, you'd have to walk a few blocks to the nearest station.
