Sorry for perhaps a dumb question, but I have had this for a year or two now. Sometimes when I quit an app it has a little dot next to it's icon in the dock. If i change the position of the icons it goes away but I can't figure out what this is indicating.

I have searched on several forums "Dock little dot" but cannot find anything.

Does anyone know what this is?

Thanks

Is the little dot a little triangle under the application icon in the dock? If that is the case this simply means that application is open and running. If it stays maybe your computer just hasn't caught up with itself and thinks its open still after you quit the application.

If you open the app and quit it, sometimes one pixel of that arrow remains if the dock is a certain height. If you resize your dock so that it's one pixel taller or shorter, you should avoid this ever happening again.

Thank you Stradlater,

I believe that is what it is. I could not replicate it when I wanted and it just started happening on a second Mac but I believe that is what caused the randomness of it. (i play with dock size alot)

Thanks
