Hi everyone,
I only own one mac, and its less than a year old. I was wondering if Tiger has anything like WindowsXP with that annoying authentication stuff, where you have to register your computer with them or you dont get updates. I stuck with Windows 2000 because of that, and it would be enough to keep me from getting Tiger. Thanks for the info.

As of tiger, there is no such thing. There isn't even a serial number to be entered when installing. I can see that changing eventually, but right now it's a *very* hassle free process. Just pop the CD in, click about 4 times, and you're good to go in about 25 minutes!
