I'm not sure exactly when this happened, but i can't open any DVD in my computer. They don't show up on the desktop and they are selected to do so in preferences.

It could be two things. Before i updated to Tiger, i installed a SuperDrive Firmware Update. I never tested any dvd's after this.....but this could be 1 cause.

The second is that it doesn't work since i installed Tiger. As this is the first DVD I'm trying to open.

I tested out 4 DVD's that i own and i put in 2 DVD's that i created using iDVD. Nothing is recognized by my computer.

I'm not getting a dialogue box with an error. Just nothing happens exept that the DVD's keep on spinning.

I've burned many CD's and everythign works fine.
And even weirder, if i put in a blank DVD...it CAN be read.

Anyone else having trouble?

I think I've read that reseting your NVRAM corrects this problem. It certainly won't hurt anything.

# Start up into Open Firmware by pressing and holding the Command-Option-O-F key combination during startup.
# At the Open Firmware prompt, type: reset-nvram
# Press Return.
# At the Open Firmware prompt, type: reset-all
# Press Return
The computer will restart.

Good luck

Hmmm not sure, I read this was a problem with Tiger, not 10.3.You might need to contact Apple support.

Sorry....
