It should still come with a parallel port, but Macs can't use parallel.

If it had a (LocalTalk-type) serial port, you would be able to connect to it, but there is no way for your machine to support USB. It's too slow to support it.

No it isn't... there may be a PCI USB card there for it. But USB sucks.

Get an older model, say, a 740, which has USB, Parallel, AND Localtalk

OK, Cipher doesn't know what he's talking about. USB doesn't suck. And, despite what sean says, your machine is certainly capable of supporting USB

You can get PCI-based USB cards for around $30 if your machine has a spare PCI slot. Without knowing the specs of your machine there's no way of knowing if you can fit it or not.

Uh... yes, it does suck... architecturally...

That, and the OS9 USB drivers suck.

Yes? Yes.

The fact that you say I don't know what I'm talking about, then disagree with Sean (hence agreeing with me...)... well... heh. I'll leave that for you...

ANYWAY.......

If your Performa does have a PCI clot for a USB card then you also have to make sure you are running AT LEAST 8.6
All USB cards need to have that min OS to run the drivers.
