Hi
I have an AlBook 1.67 MHz and occasionally get into games, either Real-time strategies like Rise of Nations or first-person shooters. I enjoy both although I am not good enough to win much. Either because of age, or excessive typing, or lifting my kid, my wrists don't like intensive trackpadding work. I use an external USB mouse for first-person shooters, which is somewhat better.

My question is what others have discovered works best. Is it a trackball? A different mouse? Putting the mouse on a lower surface? Just ways to facilitate the fun for an aging wrist. Hint: I'm not 14 any more!

Using a trackball for gaming is suicidal.

My suggestion: Logitech MX1000, or if you want a wired mouse try a MX510. Try moving your wrist onto a desk or some other stable surface.

Try one of these mousepads: http://www.cshyde.com/Excess%20Inv%20Sale.htm

I recommend the RadTech BT-500 mouse for PowerBooks. Check www.radtech.us. BlueTooth wireless, 800 DPI, good for gaming. Otherwise, the LogiTech new laser mouse if you want bigger size to move around with (and it's better precision). For general day to day work, I use a LogiTech Marble Mouse on the left side of the keyboard, this will reduce your wrist pain, this is a finger operated trackball, everyone who's used it loves it. Don't make the mistake of using it on the right side, though - use it on the left if you have a full size keyboard (a PowerBook doesn't really matter, but you want to use it on the left anyhow to get used to the idea).

I use the Logitech Optical Trackman (wireless) fort everything, design work, surfing and gaming. It fits your hand differently than most trackballs and it helps with RSI-type stuff.
