They are at the local Apple stores today.
Has anyone purchased one yet and taken it home?
What model did you get?
What were your hands-on impressions?

I just ordered the 12" 1.33Ghz iBook with a 60GB BTO hard drive. Let the waiting begin...
EDIT: nix the above statement (for now).

Just picked up 12" stock model earlier today. Great machine, especially with 1.5 GB RAM.
By the way, CoreImage IS SUPPORTED!

What exactly does Core Image get you though?
I probably need to read up on it.

Any thoughts on the case and the screen ? Are either changed or improved over the last revision or are they exactly like the last ones.

I would love to hear that as well since I'm planning to buy the 12" model as a backup Mac.

The case is the same as before. The battery doesn't fit perfectly, but I have yet to see an iBook that does. Doesn't matter to me, though, as I don't care about aesthetics much.
I don't have a quantitative way to measure the screen, but it appears to have a wider horizontal and vertical viewing angles than the older iBooks i used in the past. Basically, there's no color inversion when i look at it from any angle. No dead/stuck pixels that I can see either, and I'm certainly not going out of my way to look.

Well, that's sounds a bit hopeful about the screen. Maybe it has been spec'd up a little (crosses fingers). I wouldn't call the previous iBook screens abysmal ... but they were definitely weren't the greatest.
