What? Why can't he just take out another loan? Isn't he making anything from doing video work?

I don't see how he needs a 23" cinema display for video editing. Use your existing monitor you lazy chump.

Let me get this straight:

The guy buys a G4, he can't afford it so he gets it on credit, resulting in large amount of interest.

Several years later, it's outdated. He doesn't bother upgrading it (which would be cheaper), or considering a used/refurbished computer.. NO he wants a new one.

In addition, he doesn't want to sell his old one to go towards the balance of the new one..

Nor will he consider a cheaper alternative. No it's $5000 -- a dual g5 and a cinema display. Sure, there's cheaper alternatives, and a Dual 1.8-2.0 would be JUST FINE given what he's said, but he HAS to have the top end.

He can't afford it either, and he doesn't want to pay the credit for it.

. . . .

Didn't someone teach this moron the value of a dollar?

Sh*t, I'd like to have a Porsche, but I can't afford one. Hell, if 200,000 people donate 0.50 cents I could get one full option, and to repay you all, I'll blow up my old car on video for your amusement... ****head.

Wow Nick, all of four posts total on a strange board and already you are getting personal with the locals. Something smacks here of someone that was maybe banned previously and is now reincarnated as a new "nick"?

It's not a waste of time when I entertain myself and make the best of a POS thread like yours. If you'll actuall read all my posts, like the one just after I was told this was NOT SPAM, I did say I was going to change my post. Guess you only have the attention span to latch onto one post at a time then?

Why haven't you latched on to anyone elses in this stupid thread? I'm not the only one here who thinks the guy wishing to get a new G5 is a pitiful idiot.

wow, it seems i hit a nerve.

first of all, i posted this link because i found it amusing--i am new to this board yes and perhaps i am not up on forum "protocol" so i apologize if i offended you. everyone is entitled to their opinion which is why i posted it and MORE IMPORTANTLY why am not "latching on" to anyone.

i merely pointed out the irony of your original statement that it was a waste of time and now 12 hours later we are still having a discussion about it. thats it. maybe the guy is pathetic. most people here think so but thats is their right.

and as far as a "reincarnated" nick... you must have a boatload of skeletons in your closet to come up with a theory as far fetched as that. if attacking me is your therapy for that situation, go right ahead. i enjoy your not so passive aggressive banter.

This is very amusing. I hope he gets his new computer. I am keeping my old G4 though,
it has 2 gigs of ram, is maxed out with THREE 80 gig drives, it's a great little server computer
and backup webserver if you think about it.

Blow it up? I just couldn't. Too many good memories.

You know, maybe the whole "video editor" thing just isn't working out for him. I think he is a bit of a poser. Everybody is a video editor, motion graphics designer, cinematographer, etc. these days. Last time I looked, that is a position that pays pretty well if you are good. Considering this guy paid off his $10,000 loan 2 years ago, what is the problem?

I think it's time he starts looking for another line of work, because if he can't do what he does on that machine he has now, than he is fooling himself. Get a job loser.

He's an internet beggar, but a creative one.

And as I said to a friend, he's OVERPRICING the deal.

Top of the line G5 $2999.
20" monitor is $ 799.
Total $3798.

What's he going to do with the extra grand or so?

Oh right, saw the video again - he needs FCP5. Hmmm.

Still has some extra. Tax? He should pay the tax.

He said he wanted a 23" cinema. Not a 20". Apparently a 20" widescreen is too small for his video editing needs.

I liked the video. It is top of the line... Haha.. This guys got your juices going. For the most part P.E.T.A. is a good organization, but did you forget that animals were meant to be eaten. I agree that animal abuse is a heinous crime. Lets all eat Toby.

Regarding the video, man grow up. You don't need a dual core g5 2.7 and a 23 inch apple monitor. Get the Dell monitor. Sell your old g4, I think little children would appreciate it in a elementary school. Besides you should get a real job. You can work a full time job and make 400 bucks and in no time you can easily pay it off.

He can buy it on apple's credit same as 90 day cash program can he not? This is sickening, but please do not donate to this low life. Why doesn't he make videos about the poverty and aids epidemic in Africa and sell that. He can make money and donate it and also buy his g5.

My two cents.

.

That has to be the most idiotic statement i have ever heard. This is the last im going to write on this subject, but no species was put on this earth to be slaughtered and eaten. Each animal has a family, emotions , feelings, and other humanly reactions just like any of us. Any human can live perfectly healthy and happy without one living creature suffering. and thats just MY two cents.

I think this guy had a good idea, id do the same,
