I work for a museum/IMAX theater. We've recently purchased an eMac (1.4 ghz G4/512mb ram) for doing PowerPoint presentations in the theater. The output through the mini-VGA to VGA adapter is extremely dark. The eMac screen looks fine. I've gone through all the adjustments that I can find in the computer and the projector, but can't find any way to improve the output. The same cable-to-projector connection from a Dell 2.8 P4 looks fine. Anyone have any experience with this?

Mac mini had this problem at some point.

http://www.macintouch.com/macmini07.html has some pointers. Search for "mac mini vga dark" for more.
