Hello does anyone know if a 60 gb hd work in an older 333mhz imac? I installed it a while back with no luck. I couldn't even boot from cd. I ended up putting the original Maxtow 6 GB back in .Is it simply too big? any help welcome.

Thanks
If it wasn't for cynicism, I wouldn't have anything good to say at all

This is an iMac right? The iMac has an ATA/33 controler on the motherboard. Since ATA is backwards compatible any ATA/33, ATA/66, or ATA/100 drive will work regardless of size.

Did you make sure the jumpers were configured correctly as "master" on the drive (see the drive's manual for details).
